Copyright Policy

1. Overview

Jumi Ltd respects intellectual property rights and expects users of Jumi Pattern Maker to do the same. This policy explains how to raise a copyright concern with us and what we will do about it.

This policy is deliberately different from the notice-and-takedown policies you may have seen on platforms that host user content, for the reason explained in Section 2.

2. What we host, and what we do not

Jumi Pattern Maker runs entirely in your browser. Artwork users import and patterns users create are stored on the user's own device. They are never uploaded to our servers, and we cannot see, retrieve or remove them.

The content we do publish and control is:

the Jumi Library: the built-in shapes, icons, botanical motifs, blobs, templates and fonts available in the tool;
the website itself: its text, graphics, branding and example imagery.

A takedown request to us can therefore only meaningfully relate to that content. We cannot "take down" a user's pattern, because we do not host it.

3. Reporting a copyright concern

If you believe any element of the Jumi Library or our website infringes copyright or another intellectual property right that you own or represent, email legal@jumi.uk with the subject line "Copyright notice" and include:

Identification of your work: what it is, and evidence of your rights in it (for example a registration, publication date or link to the original);
Identification of our material: which element, template or page you are concerned about, precisely enough for us to find it (a screenshot helps);
The basis of your concern: why you consider our material infringes;
Your details: name, organisation if relevant, and contact information;
A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights owner, and that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are, or are authorised to act for, the rights owner.

4. What we do when we receive a report

We will acknowledge your notice within 5 working days.
We will investigate, which may include reviewing our creation records for the element in question and seeking legal advice.
Where a concern is substantiated, we will remove or replace the element or material, normally within 10 working days of concluding our investigation, and it will no longer be available for use in new patterns.
We will tell you the outcome. If we do not agree the material infringes, we will explain why, and the matter can be pursued through the usual legal channels.

Removing an element from the Jumi Library does not retroactively affect patterns users have already created; those exist only on users' devices.

5. Concerns about patterns made with our tool

If your concern is about a pattern someone has created or sold, rather than about our Library or website, we are not the right recipient: we do not host user patterns, we have no copy of them, and we have no relationship with marketplaces where they may be sold. You should direct your complaint to the person using the pattern or to the platform hosting or selling it (most marketplaces operate their own IP complaint procedures).

Our Website Terms of Use prohibit users from importing or using infringing material, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from courts and authorities in connection with unlawful use of our Service.

6. Misuse of this process

Submitting knowingly false or misleading copyright notices wastes everyone's time and may expose you to legal liability. We reserve the right to disregard notices that are abusive, plainly unfounded or repeatedly resubmitted without new substance.
